HBO’s The last of us show continues to fill his cast, and his latest addition is Jeffrey Pierce, an actor who appeared in the original PlayStation 3 game as Joel Tommy’s brother. But according to new report to Due date, will not play that character in the next show.
Instead of Tommy, Pierce will play a new character named Perry, described as a “rebel in a quarantine zone.” Meanwhile, the role of “Tommy” of the show was already resumed in April with actor Gabriel Luna.
Pierce is not the first The last of us video game actor to jump on the show. Back in May, Merle Dandridge, who played Marlene in the game, was cast as Marlene in the show. It’s a beautiful casting piece that will surely be noticed by obsessive fans who tune in to watch HBO’s live action show.
Alongside Pierce as Perry, Limit revealed that two other characters have been cast. Frank and Bill were teammates who were isolated together during the time before the game, and the people who played the original will know how much everything went for them. (Spoilers: Not good.)
The last of us show is written and produced by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and co-president of Naughty Dog Neil Druckmann, who was also a writer and producer on The last of us. The franchise gained more recognition last year with the release of The Last of Us Part II. He has won numerous awards, however Naughty Dog has had criticism throughout the crunch which happened during development.
The last of us on HBO began filming and will star Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and will probably be released sometime in 2022. But with covid-19 still causing problems and delays in every step of life, HBO hasn’t even officially given the series a specific release date. .
