The former Star Fox programmer would be interested in making a new entry without the “tricks.”

The last one new entry in the Star Fox series (excluding Star Fox 2) era Star Fox Zero for the Wii U in 2016.

As you may recall, it didn’t have enough of the impact Nintendo expected – receives a mixed answer. One of the main problems the players had with him was the awkward controls. Someone would love to see Nintendo make the series fun again, and that includes Giles Goddard – one of the programmers who worked on the original Super Nintendo Star Fox game.

Here is exactly what he had to say during a recent interview with GameXplain:

“It would be interesting to do a Star Fox, I think. But not like how others were made … I think it would just teach me a lot and not put tricks like the things Zero had. And maybe not even put in the aspects of free roaming and things like that I’d love to … pull it back in what made Star Fox the original fun. I’ll just make one based on that. I don’t know how popular it will be, but we could always try. “

In a follow-up request, he was asked if he would be interested in making a game in the “old style” of Star Fox. The short answer was “no.”

“If we had to do it, it would have to be a new one … or an extremely stylized retro look or a very up-to-date and modern look. But I’m not trying to replicate the polygons from the FX Chip … I don’t see it. “We have overcome this, we have solved this problem, we don’t want to go back … We always want to do something new, not go back.”

Although it seems unlikely that Goddard will return to the Star Fox series any time soon (he has his hands full with his new VR snowboard game), how would you feel about Nintendo responding to the Star Fox series? Would you like to see something more like the previous games in the future? Did you play the Wii U voice? Leave your thoughts below.
