Overwatch has made some massive announcements in recent times under new game director Aaron Keller, and today sees the arrival of a long-awaited update: cross-play.
Yes, Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC heroes can now play together. Just be careful it’s still technically in beta. To participate in cross-play, players must have access to a Battle.net account, which can be created for free. From there, you need to connect your game console and account (PC players obviously won’t be required to do this), and then connect.
Readers will not have to opt for cross-play and note that this new feature does not include cross-progression. In other words, your progress and collection content will not transfer between sessions on different systems. In competitive matchmaking, PC gamers and console gamers will be no be mixed in the same pool for competitive matches.
You can read the full story Cross-play FAQ on the Blizzard site. As part of this, all players will receive a Golden Loot Box to celebrate. Try the new cross-play feature in Overwatch? Leave a comment below.
