If, like me, you are a big fan of animation Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, then I have some very good news to share. As first seen in a new gameplay video released earlier this week, a host of classic clone warsDroids are featured in the upcoming game by EA and Respawn. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivorestablished a few years after Jedi: Fallen Order, again starring Cal Kestis. The red-haired Jedi was a young Padawan when Order 66 happened, and the Order was almost wiped out by the clones they had once fought alongside during the war shortly after. Now, after the events of Fallen Order, Cal reconnected with the Force, returned to his Jedi rhythm, and even made new friends whom he calls family. But this star Warsso they can’t relax and sip blue milk. Instead, they face an entirely new threat and new villains in the future (and recently stayed) continuation. Hey, it’s not all bad news. At least our favorite clankers from clone wars will be there, ready for Cal and his flashy lightsaber moves to cut him to pieces.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – Official Trailer

As it turned out in the new IGN article, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor includes a bunch of familiar droids that clone wars fans and fans of the prequels will immediately notice.

Of course, the classic, fan-favorite B1 battle droids are here. These are idiot grunts that are often seen joking and dying by the dozen in the animated series. And judging by the new gameplay we’ve seen, B1 will fill a similar role in survivor.

The new game also features the B2 Super Battle Droid, the larger and stronger siblings of the B1 introduced in attack of the clones so the Jedi did indeed have a threatening enemy to face in combat.

Next we have BX commando droids. They are the smarter siblings of the B1 and B2 droids, able to create traps and fool clones using advanced tactics. They are also more mobile. According to the developers, these droids often parry Cal’s attacks, making them dangerous enemies.

If you’re wondering if there are droidekas, also known as destroyer droids, in Jedi: Survivorwell, yes they are! And not only that, the developers have confirmed IGN that these rolling bastards will have shields like in the movies and clone wars show.

IG-100 Magna droids will also appear in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. These big boys have been known to guard General Grievous, and accordingly, the developers have described these warrior robots as enemies of the “high elite” who will attack, defend, parry and counter. Allmaking them one of the toughest opponents Cal will face.

Finally we have DT Sentry Droid. This scent of a killer robot is not from clone warsbut instead from the sequel shows bad batch And rebels. They have also appeared in comics. These DT Sentry Droids are very, very hardy.. IN survivor, they will be presented in different variants, some of which will be equipped with a rocket launcher, and others with blasters or melee weapons. But they will all be big beasts that can survive losing one or two limbs, and are arguably some of the toughest enemies Cal will have to fight over the course of the game.

Now the real question is why are these droids in the game at all. Judging by their livery and proximity to some nasty criminals, it looks like some big gang has repurposed the remaining droids from clone wars and built themselves a small robotic army. I think this is great, because killing droids is not only fun, but it doesn’t make me think about canon and traditions related to their death. Robots are not connected to the light side of the Force, so brush them aside and cut them to pieces, Cal!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Releases April 27 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
