Summer Game Fest 2022: dates, conference times, how to watch and everything you need to know
Summer Game Fest has established itself as a sort of host platform for game discovery and events that can last through the summer months. With E3 skipping 2022, it sets the stage for the Geoff Keighley-led event to take the lead. It kicks off with a “cross-industry” showcase full of world premieres and announcements, giving gamers a central event in addition to many smaller shows.
As in previous years, there will be a lot going on in the coming weeks and months, so we’ll be updating this guide with all the details you need.
What is the Summer Game Festival?
Summer Game Fest debuted in 2020, filling the void of canceled in-person events like E3, PAX, and so on. Its various videos and live streams span several months, although some of the openings and events are much smaller than others. Many big players are also focused on mid-June.
Its main event “Kickoff Live” in 2021 was the centerpiece and we expect it to happen again with the first broadcast of 2022.
When will Summer Game Fest 2022 take place?
Summer Game Fest will start with a demonstration event on Thursday, June 9, 2022; unlike other virtual events/exhibitions, it does not end after a few days. It will serve as a hub for screenings and gaming events throughout the summer.

Going beyond the introductory showcase, Summer Game Fest brings together a wide range of events. At the time of the initial publication, the list is small, but it is likely to expand significantly in the coming weeks.
