Well folks, we’re back with another review, and this time it’s all about Atlus’ highly anticipated JRPG, Persona 5 Royal. It took a long time to get here, but it seems to be worth the wait.

Before we dive into what other critics have said, be sure to check out our own review. We gave Persona 5 Royal an outstanding 10/10 and called it “the definition of ‘must read’ for JRPG fans”, highlighting the incredible soundtrack, stellar performance and long, engaging narrative.

Now let’s see what other outlets think of Persona 5 Royal:

Primarily, Nintendo World Report awarded the game a score of 9/10, highlighting the smooth transition to Switch:

“Now that this week Sega and Atlus began releasing the main installments of the formerly PlayStation-exclusive series to all platforms, the question immediately arose of how the Switch would handle the formerly PlayStation 4-exclusive game. And after months of college life and stylish combat, Persona 5 Royal holds up well in its handheld form.”

Dextero repeated our own review with a perfect score of 10/10, calling it one of the best JRPGs of the decade:

“Persona 5 Royal is simply a must-play for any JRPG fan, and it might not be the best place to start for those who haven’t delved into the genre yet. If you’re a fan of long RPGs full of interconnected systems and somehow haven’t played yet, we implore you to join the Phantom Thieves – they’re sure to steal your heart.”

Next, Gaming Bolt also gave the game a 10/10, praising the lack of noticeable flaws when moving to Switch:

“You couldn’t go wrong with Persona 5 Royal on the Any Platform. Actually, the game itself threw the gauntlet. Persona 5 RoyalThe band’s theme song Colors Flying High ends with the phrase “green or blue, red or white, you can’t lose if your colors fly high.” The way it is. Whether you play on Xbox or PlayStation, Switch or PC, Persona 5 Royal is a true masterpiece and one of the best games ever made awaits you, no matter how you choose to play it.”

GameTyrant received a score of 9.5/10 in its review, with the lack of framerate and resolution on other platforms being the only major downside to the experience:

“Persona 5 Royal is as great a game as ever, and that’s all I could hope for on the Nintendo Switch. This is how I wanted to play this game from the very beginning, and Atlus and Sega outdone themselves with this port. It works great, feels great and in every way A person experience I’ve been craving on Switch since 2017.”

CGMagazine gave Persona 5 Royal a 9/10 and called it “one of the best Switch ports to date”:

“I am truly amazed not only by how good Persona 5 Royal is on the Switch, but how good is it, POINT. It may well enter the hallowed halls of my list of favorite games and is a strong recommendation for anyone who might be new to the franchise – you don’t have to play the others for this to make sense – or for those who are familiar and want a great laptop version. Nintendo. It’s insanely fun, insanely accessible, and insanely addicting RPG that should be played if it wasn’t for the soundtrack alone.”

Finally, Woux gave the game a 9/10 and singled out the gameplay and presentation, but stated that the game is “long as hell” (we respectfully disagree):

“Persona 5 Royal, as Persona 5 has always been, is an incredibly solid experience on Switch. Royal is the ultimate version of the game, with tweaks and additions that take it a big step up from the original. It’s still too long. , and the added content certainly doesn’t ease that pain, but if you can get past it, you’ll find a game that stands at the top of its genre.”
