Stockpile returns with a twist in new Destruction AllStars event – PlayStation.Blog
The warehouse is back with a twist in our brand new event kicking off today at Destruction AllStars! Our second event, Unite, wrapped up last week and now our new event, Survive, brings back the old game mode with a new twist as Stockpile Frenzy joins the Trios playlist. This latest event also adds a new “Special Rules” game mode to add a bit of spice to our existing game modes, as well as brand new cosmetic items for you to earn and unlock, whether through Weekly Challenges or our new AllStar Pass! Finally, our Competitive Mode is getting brand new rewards this season, so there’s plenty to dig into today’s blog post!
Tornado warning in effect
The Warehouse is one of our team game modes with a more objective focus, revolving around collecting gear from damaged opponents and placing them in your team’s bank to score points. Stockpile Frenzy was designed from the ground up for a 3-player playlist where three teams of three players battle it out in an arena with one pot each. Spend gears in your own bank to score points, or deplete gears from your opponents’ banks! While it sounds straightforward, the arena works against you as the vehicle-destroying tornado rips through the map, devouring everything in its path! You’ll need to show off your driving skills and move around the arena to safely deliver your gear to the bank, or drive nearby to collect gears near the tornado for some last-minute points. We are very excited to bring this version of Stockpile back to multiplayer playlists as we have received many requests from our community to bring it back. Team Lucid can’t wait to see how everyone reacts to the new tornado danger and the new dynamic trios brought to the mode!
Spice up the arena
Tornadoes are not the only way to make a difference in the arena. We are also adding a number of special rules to our Quickplay and Trios playlists. The idea behind these special rules is to give players the opportunity to earn extra points while playing Destruction AllStars by mixing their playstyles a bit. Here is a breakdown of these new special rules:
- Team Goals (Mayhem Trio)
- Each team is given an opposing team to target.
- Destroying this team gives bonus points.
- Most Wanted (Mayhem Quickplay)
- Players who have broken 3 opponents will be marked on the HUD for all players in the arena.
- Players who then beat or knock out the marked player will receive bonus points.
- Team Break Pack (any Trios game mode)
- At fixed times during the game, the Team Break Pack item appears in the arena, marked for all players on the HUD.
- If a player completes the Team Break Pack, their team will receive their Hero Vehicle and AllStar Breakers, which will be immediately available.
We’re interested to see how these new special rules affect your choice of AllStar! Special rules will be in effect next week, so you and your friends have time to plan how you’re going to tackle these new challenges!
Third season of competition
With our third event comes another update to our competitive rewards. Like last season, your progress in the Competitive Blitz Playlist will earn you competitive currency that you can spend exclusively on cosmetic rewards from the Competitive Store. The higher your rank, the more you can show off in style with new glow effects and effects for some of our top ranked players!
In addition to Competitive Mode, brand new skins and cosmetics are available in the store, as well as a brand new AllStar Pass full of cosmetics and currency in both free and premium tiers. You can also earn rewards by completing weekly challenges, and new challenges have been added to the Survival mode. No matter how you decide to play, you will always move forward by completing tasks and earning new rewards!
