This weekend’s Star Trek: Mission Chicago event will see Trekkies of all ages take part in the usual fan show. It also brought a good game announcement, with Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova announced for Switch along with PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
It is the first game based on the recent Star Trek: Prodigy series, which is an animated show aimed at young fans; Outright Games is a publisher and has a history of turning family shows and movies into games. The TV show is part of the Star Trek “expanded” universe, canonically taking place after Star Trek: Voyager, where young aliens find a ship and are guided by a hologram of Voyager’s Katherine Janeway.
Not much is known about the game, only the cover above and the PR description:
At Star Trek: Mission Chicago 2022 this weekend, Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova was presented as the first ever video game based on the recent hit animated series Star Trek: Prodigy, which follows the intergalactic adventure of six alien teenagers aboard an abandoned Federation starship. The game also marks the first ever Star Trek video game aimed at young players and brings games to the next generation of Trekkies.
We will no doubt see many more details about this in the coming weeks.
