Square Enix Unveils Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion “Launch Trailer” Ahead of Release

The term “release trailer” is used a lot these days. If in this case you’ve read that it was used alongside Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion and you’re instantly struck by the fear of missing out on the game’s release, don’t worry – the launch trailer could very well be here, but the launch itself is still underway. December 13th.

Once we’ve gotten past this slight date confusion, there’s a lot to take away from the new trailer. The reunion – previously defined as “more than a remaster” but not a “complete remake” – continues to deliver impressive graphics (a step up from the PSP, I’m sure we can all agree), and there’s plenty of fuel for nostalgia here. to spur even the smallest FF fan.

Ayaka’s “Why” also returns to the soundtrack in this trailer, potentially indicating that it will be used as the game’s theme music again this time around. In addition to the score, which consists of new arrangements from Takeharu Ishimoto, we have a feeling that more than one track will be added to our playlist in the coming month.

Of course, the clear footage shown in the trailer is most likely taken from the PS5 version of the game, and the Switch version is said to run with expected performance differences. All the technical details were laid out by Square Enix earlier this month and can be found in the article below.
