Sonic Colors: Ultimate is SEGA’s flagship version for its 30th anniversary of its famous mascot this year, bringing the well-regarded Wii exclusive to a range of platforms, from the most fantastic 4K machines to the versatile Switch. Not far away, scheduled for September 7, then there is a new trailer (above) to present benefits and news in this advanced version.
Take a look at the boost in visuals, in addition to doubling the framerate to 60fps – here’s hoping the Switch version can provide that fat-filled framerate with solid HD visuals. There’s also something new – the standout can be Rival Rush, where you run Metal Sonic in various courses to earn rewards.
Beyond that there are ‘Park Tokens’ to be earned for customizable pieces and bobs, a new ‘Jade Ghost’ wisp that allows Sonic to go through walls and find secrets, control customization options, and so on. ‘Save Tails’ items that will recover you from falls, temporary invincibility when collecting 100 rings and finally a remixed soundtrack.
As you can see at the end the clean physical edition comes with a cute Sonic keychain, while a ‘Digital Deluxe’ edition will allow you to play fast and have some more customizable skins etc so it looks like most games have need a deluxe version so.
We think everything looks pretty good; Let us know if you’re excited about Sonic Colors: Ultimate!
