Sonic the Hedgehog 2 The film is now officially released in the US and the opening weekend is currently on its way to being more than the first movie of the blue spot.
According to Deadline, Sonic 2 is currently bidding for $60 million to $65 million opening in 4,234 US theaters. In contrast, the original 2020 film grossed $58 million in its first three days. Deadline provided some additional data:
“Sonic the Hedgehog 2Thursday was $5 million, or 66%, higher than Thursday’s $3 million preview of the original 2020 film, which began at 5 p.m. -day and $70 million over a four-day weekend, followed by a final $148.9 million. The film’s legs were really affected by the onset of the pandemic and the closing of the exhibition across the country.”
Compared to other films, Sonic has overtaken Michael Bay’s new action movie. Ambulance with an estimated $7.25 million opening, comedy adventure Lost City opening at $30.4 million, and Sony’s Morbius currently in its second weekend and making $56.1 million locally .
