Ah, the Smurfs, those funny little blue characters who have survived for decades in popular culture, even if they don’t necessarily reside in the first tier when it comes to mainstream popularity. The brand is still lucrative, though, and publisher Microids is working with developer OSome Studio to bring it about The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf to Change and various platforms on October 26th.
And, well, it looks encouraging. In fact, if you’ve exchanged a few different mascots and released this teaser, many might react with “ooh, it might be okay”; the sneaky peak shows the “Smurfizer do-it-all” in action, which seems a bit out of place Super Mario Sunshine-esque running. There will also be four different playable characters and five worlds, so potentially a lot to do.
There will also be two special editions, with ‘Smurftastic Edition’ having the following:
- The game is based on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch
- 3 lithographs (10x15cm)
- A Papa Smurf keychain (5cm)
- Adhesive sheets (11×8.5cm)
A Collector’s Edition will also feature a Puffy Puff Resin figurine (14.5cm) and a digital code for the soundtrack.
No doubt there will be trailers and more extensive details ahead of the launch. Let us know what you think of the teaser in the comments!
