Seth Rogen on voicing Donkey Kong in ‘Mario’: ‘It’ll sound like me and that’s it’

There have been many discussions about how Chris Pratt will sound as Mario in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie. Movie, but how will Donkey Kong’s voice sound?
In an interview with Comicbook.com, DK voice actor Seth Rogen admitted that he does not do voice work, but simply used his regular voice for Donkey Kong. There was no talk about how to make a voice for DK, as in the case of Mario.
Seth Rogen: “I was very honest, I don’t voice. And if you want me to be in this movie, it will sound like me and that’s it. And that was the beginning and the end of this conversation. you want Donkey Kong to sound like me, I’m your boyfriend.” But it seems to have worked, I think in the movie and in the game all you really know about Donkey Kong is that he throws barrels and doesn’t really like Mario.”
You can actually hear Rogen as Donkey Kong in one of the recent trailers, and it’s true – he really does sound just like Seth Rogen:
In regards to the relationship between Mario and DC, Rogen describes it as “hostile”, mentioning that DC would probably prefer to go on his own adventures, so he just stuck with the idea that the gorilla in the tie “hates” Mario.
Joining Rogen and Pratt will be Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and more. There will also be a “special voiceover” for the Mario video game voice, Charles Martinet.
