It is believed that Crash Bandicoot may soon return in a new multiplayer game, with its reveal possibly taking place at some point next week.
According to Windows Center journalist Jez Corden, Toys For Bob may present a new Crash Bandicoot fighting game designed for multiple players (up to four players). He reportedly omitted this information from the latest Windows Central podcast. That’s what he said (thank you, Pure Xbox):
“New Crash? Interesting, where did you get this information from? I shouldn’t have dumped it.”
“I think we might see a new Crash Bandicoot and it will not only be a new Crash Bandicoot, but a multiplayer Crash Bandicoot… It’s almost like a four-player brawl but Crash-centric.”
Wumpa League has been rumored for some time now, though there’s no guarantee this game could be exactly that, or whatever it will necessarily be called. Jez himself said he couldn’t remember the official name during the podcast.
At the moment, it is also unclear which platforms it will be released on. The Switch already has all of the Crash remasters, including the new fourth entry – so hopefully it will be included in any future announcement, if any.
Toys for Bob also revealed that more Crash Bandicoot will be coming “very soon” during last year’s anniversary celebrations:
