Rogue Legacy 2 tips and tricks

Rogue Legacy 2 is finally out and we know a lot of fans can’t wait to dive right into the action! However, for beginners, the beginning can be quite intimidating, so here are some tips and tricks to help the adventurous get into the flow.
TIPS AND Tricks:
Get Rich or Die Trying – Manor Gold Upgrades: Rogue Legacy 2 quite a difficult game and the beginning can be overwhelming for some players. Your homestead has a lot of upgrades to help you deal with these challenges, but there’s still a lot to work through, so here are a few skills we recommend for new players. The very first Homestead upgrade provides gold bonuses to your chosen Traits, but it doesn’t stop there. Skills like “Repurposed Mine Shaft” increase the gold bonuses for traits, and “Offshore Banking” allows players to slowly build up gold until they can afford the more expensive items. They may seem expensive, but buying them early will give you a quick edge.
Mastery XP OP – Sage Totem: Buying stat upgrades from the estate isn’t the only way to boost your character. By unlocking the Sage Totem, you’ll gain access to Mastery XP, which allows each Hero class to naturally grow stronger as you play as them. What’s more, these strengths are permanent and carry over between classes. Players who buy Sage Totem and diversify the classes they play with can quickly and easily get bonuses that really help early on.

Gotta catch them all – Relics: We don’t want to spoil too much, but as you roam the Kingdom, be sure to look for heirlooms. At first, they may seem ominous and intimidating, but remember, luck favors the brave! You may not excel in their challenges the first time around, but perseverance and eventually victory will earn you the biggest rewards the game has to offer.

Show me your moves – spells and talents: Do not create bad habits! Try to use every ability you have, even if there are no enemies around, just to better understand your character’s strengths. Yes, your weapons are powerful, but each hero class also has a unique Talent as well as a random Spell, and using them all is the key to success. There is plenty of mana in RL2, so don’t be afraid to experiment!

Another Level of Combat – Critical Skills: Once you get used to using all your abilities, you can level up with skill critical hits, also known as skill critical hits. Every weapon and spell in the game has a way to deal additional damage, such as dashing while attacking or hitting enemies at the peak of a blade strike. Not only are these skill crits great fun, but they get stronger as you get more experienced. Learning the nuances ensures that you can take down the toughest opponents quickly.
Mobility Master – Spin Kicks: There is a reason why we repeated the rotation so many times in the tutorial. AT Rogue Legacy 2, Spin Kick is life. Mastering this adds a whole new level to both your platforming and combat repertoire. In fact, it’s so versatile that you can go through the entire game with just one move. Not recommended, but possible (yes, someone has done this).

Practice makes perfect – Architect: We have made great efforts to make sure that every boss in Rogue Legacy 2 can be won without getting hit. It takes a ton of practice, but luckily there’s an easy way to keep trying until you’re that good. After buying from the Estate, the Architect will give you the option to lock the Kingdom and prevent it from changing. If you’ve already found the boss room, the locked kingdom means you can fight the boss again and again since they’re just in the teleporter.
Pro Tip: Spend one or two heirs just dodging boss attacks and see how long you can last. By focusing solely on defense and not worrying about offense, it’s easier to learn boss attack patterns and timing. Once they figure it all out, you can give them a fight.

Play it your way – house rules: Even following all these tips, Rogue Legacy 2 still has a steep learning curve and you can still struggle. Or maybe you don’t want to waste so much time and instead want to sit back on the couch and relax. Everyone is different and House Rules allows you to customize the experience to your liking. Up or down the difficulty, switch contact damage, and even slow down time to keep the game moving at your pace.
Play how you want and don’t worry, there will be no penalty for using house rules.

This covers the basics to help you get started. Before touching the controller, remember that Rogue Legacy 2 it’s more than just quick hands and quick reflexes. Arming yourself with the right knowledge and the will to persevere is just as important. This guide is just the tip of the iceberg, so keep learning new things as you play. There is much more to look for, discover and, most importantly, enjoy. Thanks for reading and we hope you have fun with Rogue Legacy 2.

Rogue Legacy Returns! But now he has 2 on the end! Rogue Legacy 2 is a genealogical rogue-LITE. This means it has all the trappings of a typical rogue-like (randomized playthroughs, character swaps, and more), but with constant updates and constant dead heirs. In this game, your heritage defines you. Spend your parents’ inheritance and develop the family estate to give your children a better chance of winning. Each child is unique, with their own characteristics and abilities. Your daughter may be a ranger. She may also be a vegan. Each time is a new experience. Rogue Legacy 2 also lets you play the way you want. Move as fast as you can and dive deeper into the depths of a randomly generated world. Or take it slow and steady and develop your character until you’re ready for the bigger challenge.
