Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition was perhaps one of the most disappointing releases of the past year. At launch, all games had bugs and crashes, and many of these issues didn’t even exist in the original games.
This “final” version of the trilogy has since recovered somewhat, with Rockstar and Grove Street Games releasing a number of patches to address these issues and improve the overall experience. If these fixes aren’t enough anymore, it looks like new updates are coming soon. Rockstar has announced that another patch will be released “for all platforms” next week.
“New fixes for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be released next week for all platforms. We appreciate the patience and support of the community.”
While the Switch version of the trilogy has drawn a lot of criticism from users on Metacritic, it’s clear that sales generally outperformed Rockstar parent company Take-Two’s expectations. Exact sales figures have not been released, but it is believed that around 10 million copies across all formats have been sold since the last collection of the trilogy was released.
