As you may have guessed, creating that sense of immersion is one of our key goals for the Metro series. We’ve refined our business over the last decade, using narrative, audio, and visual tricks to attract more readers into the game world.

Some of Metro’s signature weapons are the handcrafted pneumatic Tikhar and the spring-loaded Helsing, and we found the perfect use for the adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller to simulate increased pressure or resistance when applying / loading these weapons. from unique fires. Maintaining high air pressure in the tank is essential to preserve Tikhar lethality, and this must be raised manually by pumping the right trigger; as the pressure increases, so does the resistance to the trigger action so that players can feel when the maximum pressure has been reached.

We also use adaptive triggers to mimic resistance when rowing, operating certain machines, or driving the purchased Metro ground vehicle in the Caspian desert.

Of course, for Metro Exodus we have adapted this new feature into our existing concept, but as creatives we are excited to explore new game mechanics that can be improved with the DualSense controller in mind from the start to better deliver our immersion goal. complete of the reader. .
