Random: Zeldathon Runner defeats Ocarina Of Time Ganon by throwing Ruto at him

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is arguably one of the most popular speedplay games out there. One of the many famous tricks in the game is that Ruto, the Zora princess you need to rescue from Lord Jabu Jabu’s belly, has a hitbox if you drop her. As you can imagine, this can be used for many different purposes as long as you have it. But you don’t have it for long – unless, of course, you hack it.

This is exactly what Vidya James, member Zeldaton, Randomizer runner, and sometimes speedrunner. James wanted to know if Princess Zora could be used to defeat Ganon at the end of the game by simply throwing her at him. So he hacked it into the game’s practice firmware. The results, as you’d expect, are pretty hilarious. You can see the results above. Who needs a master sword when you can just throw Zora at someone?

However, James’ experiments did not end there. Taking on the Great Evil King himself at the end of Ganon’s castle, James once again used Ruto to defeat evil.

No need to reflect magic back at Ganondorf – just throw Zora at him. And then make sure it hits the treasure chest in the middle of the throw, so when Ganondorf hits the floor, he takes constant damage. Ruto has the same damage flags as Deku Nut and Kokiri Sword, so every hit she makes deals 1 damage. Ganondorf has 40 health points.so here many hits Ruto.

So… there might be a new speedrun category in this, right? Ocarina of Time with Ruto Any%? We would like to see it. However, I’m not sure Ruto will appreciate being dumped all the time.
