After having a lot of fun with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time when we reviewed the game last year, we were itching for more orange blur news. Upcoming fan project from Unknown door games seems to do just that, albeit to a lesser extent official release/full game kind of path.

Posted their progress on Twitter yesterday (thanks, Eurogamer), the developer has announced that their fan-made game, Crash ‘N’ Dance, will be a remake of Crash Nitro Kart’s secret Crash mini-game “Crash Party USA”, something of a hybrid of buttons, a dance mat, and a bandicoot that we’ve never didn’t know what we needed.

In a short video showcasing the first two rounds of the game, FierceTheBandit shared the following tweet promising new updates coming soon:

“Crash Party USA” (previously called “Crash Party”) debuted as a secret mini-game in Vicarious Visions’ GBA release of Nitro Kart, and later appeared under a more common name in Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy and Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto’s Rampage . console crossover. The game could only be accessed on the GBA by holding down the ‘L’ and ‘R’ keys at system startup and receiving bonuses for the last level if they were completed.

The FierceTheBandit remake appears to use the same button-synced gameplay as the original, and even uses a GBA-inspired pixel art style for an extra burst of nostalgia. We think this is a significant update to the original 3D look (video below) and are excited to see Crash making more moves as this remake progresses.

We don’t have any news on exactly when we’ll be able to try out Crash ‘N’ Dance, but we’re certainly ready to get back to the Wampa Island vibe as soon as we can.
