There are a lot of things that are not considered in video games during development and either hide in the finished code or are wiped off the face of the earth before we have time to turn our eager, Nintendo-obsessed attention to them. One very small A detail removed from Super Mario World has recently been brought to our attention. @MarioBrothBlogand we don’t want to sound too dramatic here, but we’re heartbroken.
Deep in the game’s development files, a tiny green creature named “One-Character-kun” or “Mr. One-Character” can be found due to the fact that its miniature size is equivalent to one character of text. .
His name is not a lie, this little guy is really small. But perhaps what makes this little pea even more adorable is the fact that we have no idea what its primary purpose was. He’s an international man of mystery, if you will.
When asked if there was any goal written into the development files, @MarioBrothBlog replied that there is only a short animation in which Mr. One approaches and climbs a block, although all the climbing sprites are missing. The animation can be found in the tweet below, but the little guy’s motives remain a mystery – please get down from there, One-Character-kun, you’ll get hurt!
As if to make us feel even more like we’ve just discovered our spirit animal, it looks like the creature right above its head has a rogue white pixel – perhaps to make it stand out better against a dark background, yes – but we’re happier. assuming it’s a drop of sweat. The kid is tired Good?
While it’s unlikely that Mr. One Character will be the next character added to Smash Bros. – the thought of him going up against Charizard makes you sweat – we’d love to see some more of this adorable, pea-like guy. in future.
