Moving the inventory slot is one of the most notorious glitches in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, used in countless tricks such as saving the Bow of Light or duplicating certain items and weapons. We wouldn’t have a bunch of other crashes without the inventory slot transfer, and we wouldn’t be finding new secrets and exploits in the game today.

The new invention of games once again shared another useful way to use inventory slot transfer – this time to get up to 999 of any material. Just in case you need a few spares! No more farming or wasting time looking for rare materials like giant ancient cores.

In the example below, Gaming Reinvented starts with a new file. In this file, you need to make sure Link has no armor, and then place the item you want to clone into the first inventory slot. Then equip the shield, save, set up the slots in your main file with the inventory slot transfer, and then go back to the first file.

Without opening the menu, get to the place where the game is automatically saved. Once you see that the game is saved, open the menu and get rid of the items you want to clone. Reload and ta-da! Have you ordered 999 diamonds?

One thing that Gaming Reinvented has since added is that you need to set up enough slots to carry inventory slots for your key items, one shield, and any food, and as one commenter pointed out, you also need enough offset to carry over the shield.

How many more glitches and secrets will we find before the release of Breath of the Wild 2? And then we will have years of these discoveries! Breath of the Wild is a gift that keeps on giving. You can see how to make the 999 material glitch in the video below.

Did you use the inventory slot transfer glitch in Breath of the Wild? Will you give it a go? Let us know about it in the comments!
