During The Game Awards last December, the Nintendo title Metroid Horror won Best Action/Adventure Game. It managed to win Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy, Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as well as Resident Evil Village.

At the time, Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser accepted the award on behalf of the development team. According to a social media update, the same award has “finally” arrived at the MercurySteam office in Spain.

The MercurySteam account shared the following snapshot of the award, and other team members such as lead programmers, character artists, and developer co-owner José Dario Halle showed it off on Twitter:

Creative director José Luis Marquez also took the moment to once again thank Metroid fans around the world and said that this is also a reward for fans and supporters of the game:

MercurySteam is also currently hiring:

In addition to being an award-winning game, Metroid Dread is selling well. The latest sales update in February focused on how the game was set to become the best-selling game in the series – with over 2.74 million in sales in its first few months.

In our Nintendo Life review, we gave the game 10 out of 10 stars, calling it the triumphant return of Samus and MercurySteam.
