Random: Fortnite’s Evil Dead crossover includes a hilarious Spider-Man reference

Fortnite is prone to the most ridiculous crossovers. Sure, Marvel and DC characters are pretty typical for video game cameos at this point, but it’s getting marvelous when you start throwing Street Fighter, Dragon Ball, star Warsas well as naruto. It’s great. Watching Goku chase Doctor Strange with his lightsaber never gets boring.

With Halloween approaching, the door opens for some really fun crossovers, and this year we’ll see Ash Williams from Sam Raimi’s cult horror hit. Evil Dead make a cut. The character played by Bruce Campbell in the films gets his own skin. As well as @FireWalkWithJoe found out on Twitter that there is a really fun Easter egg if you meet Spider-Gwen or Spider-Man in Ash’s shoes in the game. (Thanks, Comic!)

If you approach Ash while wearing one of the Spider-suits, he will say “You remind me of this wrestler I used to know…”, alluding to the origin of Spider-Man’s namesake in the 2002 Sam Raimi film. Spiderman movie. In the film, Bruce Campbell plays the wrestling announcer who gives Maguire his iconic name. It’s a cheeky little wink, which we think is a lot of fun.

It shows that Epic Games is really paying attention to detail and embracing the fun these crossovers bring to the hugely popular battle royale. The Evil Dead is a great addition on its own, but that little touch makes it all the more incredible.

This year’s Halloween event in Fortnite lets you transform into a werewolf, take part in a new limited-time mode called Zero Build Horde Rush, and brand new XP quests. The event will last until November 1, so be sure to enter the battlefield under a full moon.
