Remember printed gaming magazines? While there are some that are still active and popular with enthusiasts to this day, it’s safe to say that this medium is a shadow of its former self, since with the advent of the Internet, countless print publications are almost obsolete.

However, what is good about the Internet is that you can find boat print magazines that have been downloaded and archived over the years, just waiting for your eager eyes to flip through their gorgeous pages. One such example nintendo forcea special gaming magazine from Nintendo of America (and later Future US), which was published from 1988 to 2012. Thanks to a group of talented archivists working on a project known as Retromags, all 285 issues are now available for download at Archive.org.

In a short message posted on the site, user “Gumball” stated the following:

“Each release of Nintendo Power from number 1 to 285 in cbr. As far as I could tell, it was not a collection of all the issues in one place, but a scattered collection of different sets, none of which was complete. together with the help of some great people for everyone.”

Just over 40GB in size, the files are unofficially available in .cbr format, showcasing everything from the pioneering era of the Nintendo NES to the dawn of the short-lived Wii U. You can download each release individually if you’d like, but fair warning, it seems like the site is a little short at the moment. loaded, so you might have to wait a long time.

Of course, the question on everyone’s lips, including ourselves, is how long will it be available before Nintendo itself inevitably pulls it off? She’s not exactly known for welcoming such projects with open arms, but hopefully even Nintendo understands how important it is to save game magazines. Crossed fingers.
