Random: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim switch case hides an adorable secret

Vanillaware’s latest title, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, finally landed on Switch yesterday, allowing you to take the mystery-filled, mech-fighting, mind-bending story with you. But if you have the physical version of the game, the surprises seem to start even before you get a chance to download the game.

A few days ago a twitter user @5wayshot received the boxed version of the game ahead of time. When they open the box, it looks like it’s just white inside, which is a bit boring! Dig a little deeper and remove the cartridge and you’re in for something:

Ouch! Adorable little kitty! This little cat appears throughout 13 Sentinels, the characters often fondling his soft fur, which is why he gets the name “Fluffy” as a result.

We’ve had a bit of an internet hunt to see if anyone else has managed to spot this black and white haze lurking underneath their Switch cartridge, and we’ve got more footage revealing the mystery.

Whether the two actually spotted the cat is another matter, but it was right there! We saw him! We swear. To be honest, it’s pretty easy to miss. If you are just a little less observant or a collector who never opens his boxes, you will never be able to solve the mystery of the cat in the box.
