Quake-Powered FPS Wrath: Aeon Of Ruin coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023

We’ve been waiting for one game to come to Switch – Wrath: Aeon of Ruin. Powered by the original Quake Engine, this retro first-person shooter was first announced for the Nintendo hybrid system back in 2019.

So what’s new? At Realms Deep 2022, the dark fantasy first-person shooter was released in the spring of 2023 for PC and consoles. Alongside this announcement, a brand new trailer was revealed, showing off a new boss and enemy, new weapons and levels.

Here’s an update from the development team:

“The team continues to work hard to provide fans with the most detailed first-person shooter ever.

Hunt down Guardians of the Old World as the Outlander. Wreak havoc in ANGERfierce combat, exploring non-linear vast centers.

Today’s trailer introduces the first boss, Lady of Ascension, Mourn Valley Guardian. After collecting five relics in the first hub, defeat the Guardian to get to Episode 2.

While the Outlander was the hunter, something new is after him: Trampsabominations that tend to become invisible to sneak attacks.

Take on this new enemy with three new weapons:

Crystallizer: a chain weapon capable of hitting multiple enemies. The alternate fire mode turns enemies into frozen crystals that enhance the chain’s ability to act as a conduit.
Lance: long-range sniper capable of creating a force field
Mace of Devastation: A devastating melee weapon that collects souls. Secondary fire releases souls in a distant fire.
