PSA: Don’t let this Pokémon Legends: Arceus Softlock take you by surprise

Like every other Switch game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been subject to a number of updates since launch that are designed to fix bugs and resolve issues. However, ver. Version 1.0.2 introduced a glitch that could cause your game to “lock” if you’re not careful.

Please note: The following information may be considered a spoiler, so proceed at your own risk.

The glitch affects mission #23. If the player catches Cresselia before when talking to Melly, Melly will not confirm the capture, and Cresselia will not respawn – which means that the mission cannot be marked as completed.

Because it very it’s easy to activate this software lock without knowing it, it has caught quite a few players. It’s fairly easy to enter the Moonview Arena and capture Cresselia without talking to Melly first; since Cogita provides the quest, many will decide there is no reason to interact with Mellie.

As you can see from these messagesit caught more than a few people. I hope there will be a fix.
