PS5 DualSense Pink and Blue are now available for pre-order.

Several recently announced PlayStation 5 DualSense controller skins are now available for pre-order, though not all.

Nova Pink and Starlight Blue will launch on January 14th in the UK, joining Cosmic Red and Midnight Black in addition to the traditional white model that ships with the PlayStation 5.

However, the third new color, Galactic Purple, will initially only launch on the official PlayStation Direct site where it will retail for £ 64.99.

PS5 Console Cover Trailer

The Galactic Purple will go on sale in February.

There is currently no indication as to when the matching console covers will be available, despite being announced in January.

Sony was granted a patent last year that allowed it to make artwork for the PlayStation 5, suggesting that the company had plans to offer customization options for console owners.

The news will likely affect existing companies offering PS5 customization, most notably Canadian peripherals firm Dbrand, which has been in a lengthy battle with Sony over the PS5’s own black bezels dubbed “Darkplates.”

Dbrand’s $ 50 Darkplates went on sale in February and were out of stock for several hours until May.

However, in a statement released last month, the company declared Darkplates “dead” following a termination and abstinence letter from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s lawyers, in which they threatened to sue if it continued to sell them.

However, just days later, in a self-righteous statement on its mat, lawyers website, Dbrand unveiled a new line of PS5 faceplates it calls Darkplates 2.0 and claims it is immune to future lawsuits.

“You cannot successfully sue someone for alleged ‘design infringement’ without a registered design patent,” Dbrand said at the time. “Sony did not have a registered design patent for the PS5 side panels when we launched Darkplates (or for many, many months after).

“We didn’t think they would ever get it. They did. We are here.”
