Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Breakdown – Everything You Missed

Another PokéScarVi trailer is out (that’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, I don’t know), and we’ve got a magnifying glass and speculation cap in our hands, ready to tear it apart into tiny pieces.
Below we break down every detail we found in the recent trailer. Let’s go to?
Everything you missed in the new Pokemon trailer
Well, make sure you’ve seen the trailer first:
And check out our breakdowns of the last two trailers in case you missed them (of course not!):
Automatic combat
You can now send your Pokémon to the battlefield for automatic battles against wild Pokémon without your direct control. This means they can earn Exp. Points and find items while you are doing other things!
From the website:
“You can have one Pokémon walking with you outdoors in the Paldea region. When you have a Pokémon exploring the field, you can use Let’s Go! function to send that Pokémon in the direction you specify. The Pokemon you send out then picks up items in the area on its own, and even engages in auto-battles with nearby Pokemon.”
“When your Pokémon is away and participating in auto-battles, you can do whatever you want – stay close to it to keep an eye on it, or search for items nearby. By defeating wild Pokémon in Auto Battles, your Pokémon can also earn items and XP!”
Three stories
We have speculated on this before and we were right on the money in places! It looks like the three stories will be:
- Victory Road
- Starfall Street
- The path of legends
Read on to find out more about each of them!
Victory Road
If you’ve played a Pokémon game, you already know this one. Battle through eight Pokémon Gyms (in any order!) to climb the Pokémon League rankings and become the champion.
You’ll need to complete Champion Evaluation at Headquarters after you beat all the Gyms, of course, and defeat the imposing Pokémon League Chairman, Ms. Gita. Each gym also has sports tests, which you can learn more about below.
Looks like your high school friend Nemona will be helping you reach Champion rank!
Practice tests?!
Before you can take on the Gym Leaders, you must complete “gymnastic tests,” which are apparently a non-violent way to prove your prowess with Pokémon. Each gym has different tests, but the Artazon gym will need to collect Sunflora throughout the city. Why? No idea.
★ Starfall Street ★
As we predicted, you’ll have to defeat a squad similar to Team Rocket, except that Scarlet and Violet don’t have evil masterminds, but Team Star, the delinquent students at your school. Somehow they all have their own bases that you need to destroy – a bit like a bandit camp in an RPG, but with a time limit. You can use Auto Battles to make things a little easier for yourself.
It also looks like each of these teams will have a different type, as we were shown by “Team Star Fire Crew”… which is a bit like gyms, isn’t it? Hm.
The bosses of each camp will drive a car called a Starmobile that you also must win with their Pokémon. Yes, you have to hit cars.
Now we know who owns the car.
This is Mela, the leader of the Starfire team. But also… maybe a car is pokemon? We know you have to beat him for it to make sense… and it looks like he has a face!
The path of legends
The Path of Legends is the most unusual and unique story of the three. We are talking about Herba Mystica, rare Paldean ingredients that immediately restore health after consumption. They are guarded by Titan Pokémon – huge, strong versions of regular Pokémon that you’ll have to defeat in order to succeed in your culinary quest.
This quest is led by your high school friend and aspiring chef Arwen!
New characters revealed
Brassius
Leader of Artazon Gym, a region specializing in flowers and art. Brassius chooses his team based on their aesthetic and judges coaches willing to challenge him. His specialty is Grass-type Pokémon.
Mela
The head of Team Star Fire, Mela drives a custom car called the Starmobile and leads the Shedar Squad. We can probably assume that she prefers Fire-type Pokémon.
Ms Gita
The chairman of the Paldino Pokémon League, Ms. Gita, is imposing but meek and very tall. She is one of the best Pokémon trainers in the region.
New pokemon discovered
New Paldin Pokémon have arrived: Ceruledge, Armarouge, and Clough! We don’t know much about them, like if they’re legendary or semi-legendary, and whether we catch them or discover them in the story, but for all the information we have at the moment, check out these stories:
Titans
Well, we know about Cetitan – the new land whale Pokémon – and now we know about Klauf, who is also called “Titan”. It appears to be a new breed of Pokémon that is much larger and stronger than usual… although apparently so were the Dynamax Pokémon. It’s confusing. Do not worry about it.
Returning Pokémon Revealed
We’ve also spotted some recently confirmed returning Pokémon there, namely: Sudowoudo, Orikorio, Shroomish, Sunkern, Gumi, Sligu, Komala, Salamens, Sneezel, Weevil, Hypno, Drawzy, Dunsparse, Magikarp, Gyarados, and probably many more. didn’t even see it.
Again, here’s the full list:
Cards??
Looks like Rotom Phone has a map and the ability to set waypoints! Fun!!
New OLED!
Woo!
Were there any details in the trailer? Let us know about it in the comments!
