Piranha plants have settled in Super Nintendo World in Hollywood

Earlier this year, Nintendo announced its intention to open Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood following the resounding success of its debut theme park in Osaka, Japan.

It looks like the development of the new attraction is going well thanks to recent video filmed by theme park enthusiast Ethan Becker (thanks, Tribune Theme Park!). In the screenshots, you can see that the pyramids in the desert area look complete, but perhaps more interestingly, you can clearly see a couple of planted piranha plants that are currently wrapped up to protect their beautiful heads.

Bowser Castle looks good too, with all three main towers fully installed. Overall, while the park certainly looks a lot like the Japanese version, it looks like some aesthetic elements, like the addition of pyramids, will differentiate the Hollywood theme park from its Osaka sibling.

We will be monitoring the development of the park in the coming weeks and months. However, we still have a little time before it’s complete as Nintendo has set a “2023” opening window for customers.

What do you think of the development done for Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood? Let us know with a comment!
