Physical edition of GTA Trilogy on Switch requires download
Update [Fri 5th Nov, 2021 08:15 GMT]: GTA Trilogy box art images have started to appear in Europe. Online store in the UK Games collection shared the following image showing box art and the need to download from the internet:
Original article [Tue 26th Oct, 2021 00:55 BST]: Last week, we heard that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch was quite an impressive 25.4GB. This was according to the list on North American Online Store page.
Although not quite large compared to the downloads on Other platforms, if you’re a physical Nintendo collector, this might not be the best news. The official box art of the game for North America has appeared online, and has the dreaded “download required” label on the front.
This information comes through Direct feed games and the image below was obtained from Target:
“US retailers are now provided with assets, and there is a ‘Download Required’ banner in GTA – The Trilogy for Switch.”
Should a download eventually be required, it won’t be all that surprising given Rockstar’s history on Switch. Physical version of Switch Black 14 GB download required.
The physical version of GTA: The Trilogy will be released on December 7, and the digital version will be released a month earlier, on November 11. Will you take a paper copy of this game? Leave a comment below.
