After more than a year of cancellations and a move to online events, we are slowly getting closer to the point where in-person showings of games will resume. Not far from us is PAX West, which takes place in Seattle from September 3rd to 6th.
Tickets are already available for purchase at Official websiteand PAX has released an update on its health and safety measures. Confirmed that participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID test result and government-issued ID; In addition, face closure is required.
We will now require confirmation of a COVID-19 vaccination series or a negative PCR or COVID-19 antigen test before submitting an application, each of which must be verified with a valid government issued ID. If you have purchased a badge and have questions or concerns about this requirement, please contact PAX Questions at [email protected]
When the PAX West 2021 badges were announced, the PAX team made the decision to communicate what we can do at the time, not what we were working on. While we inform the community health and safety manual can evolve, we wanted to do it right and are confident that checking for full vaccinations or negative test results, along with ongoing demands for face closure for everyone, will create an environment that will foster the well-being of our PAX community.
The PAX team is unwavering in our commitment to health and safety, including limited capacity and mandatory face masks to be worn at all times by visitors, exhibitors, employees and law enforcement. We will continue to evaluate our policies, listen to community feedback, follow directions from health officials, and do everything in our power to make PAX West as safe as possible. We will always do our best to support the global gaming community and the cities that PAX calls home.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will see other personal events approach these challenges as plans and locations begin to unfold.
Let us know if you plan to travel to PAX West in September.
