Today, as part of its nine-month financial report, Nintendo revealed that the Switch has now reached an amazing level. 994.30 million in software sales, putting the console way above the Nintendo DS with 948.76 million.

Back in November when Nintendo released their Second quarter earnings reportsoftware sales were at the level 917.59 millionwhich means that there has been a significant increase 76.71 million between then and now. Clearly, games like Splatoon 3 and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet made a significant contribution to achieving this milestone, with the former surpassing 10 million in sales and the latter surpassing 20 million.

This means, of course, that the Switch is the most successful console in Nintendo’s history in terms of software sales, and we’re willing to bet total sales will likely reach 1 billion by the end of fiscal year 2023, which is just nuts, really. At the very least, we expect The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to sell absolute gangsters, so frankly, it’s unavoidable at this point.

Elsewhere, Nintendo has confirmed release windows for its upcoming 2023 games, so be sure to check this out if you need a refresher:
