It’s July and there’s still no sign of the second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, so what’s going on? While Nintendo hasn’t provided an update on when the next wave will be released, it looks like fans have been able to come up with some sort of time frame for this next DLC release.

As shown in the tweet @PushDustIn, a recent ad for 7-Eleven in Japan shows Wave 1 courses and upcoming waves of DLC. However, it is mentioned in the top right corner that this ad should no longer be shown to the public by July 17, 2022. This has led to theories that an announcement could potentially be around the corner.

This isn’t the first time banner ads in Japan have indicated that Nintendo DLC is just around the corner. Similar stories were shown during the Super Smash Bros. ultimate.

The initial wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC contained a total of eight courses taken from the mobile version, as well as various retro games. Some of these tracks included Toad Circuit (3DS), Choco Mountain (N64) and even the fan favorite Coconut Mall (Wii). All of these tracks and waves should be delivered by the end of 2023.

At this stage, it is not known exactly which courses will be included in the next wave of DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but datamining has previously revealed an updated booster course banner:

Are you looking forward to the next wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC tracks? Have you tried the first wave yet? Tell us in the comments.
