Winner: Fragrant Story
Winning just because it is Only The 3DS game we reviewed this year, Fragrant Story, is still worth a look. It’s a weird micro-strategy RPG that made a splash as the last 3DS game to be released in North America, and while it’s not the best strategy RPG we’ve ever played, it deserves more curiosity than anything else.
Runner-up: Um… hmm. Why not go to the 3DS eShop and download some of the non-2022 winners before they become available for purchase in March?
Best Soundtrack
Winner: tie
It’s a draw between Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Neon White, Splatoon 3, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Signalis, Kirby, Sonic Frontiers, Cult of the Lamb, Bayonetta 3 and oh my god, about 50 other games. .

This year the award is divided into three parts, each of which goes equally to Inscryption, Tunic and Omori. Unfortunately we cannot tell you Why these games are winners, they just are. WINK.

The Switch has always been a great place for games that let you switch off, and 2022 has been a great year for it too.
Our ultimate winner is Dorfromantik, a superbly relaxing game about making cute little vignettes in the countryside. Can’t you just Feel stress seeping from your bones?
