Nintendo eShop has a Christmas outage (again)

If you have had problems accessing Nintendo eShop, creating Nintendo Accounts, using certain subscription services, downloading or playing games on the Internet in the past few days, you are not alone. Ahead of the holidays, Nintendo (kind of) warned everyone that they might have some problems, and of course, the company’s servers went down due to the overwhelming number of people trying to access its online services when Christmas came around.

At the time, Nintendo sent out the following message – thanking the customers for their understanding, and while the problems were eventually resolved, the error messages were really frustrating and prevented many people from buying games online and enjoying their new device.

Online store outages weren’t limited to Nintendo Switch either. They also influenced the 3DS and Wii U services. Many Nintendo fans on social media called it “Christmas tradition“and, frankly, this is not the first time this has happened during the holiday season.

This follows from Switch Online issues earlier this month with Amazon Web Service outages. How have Nintendo’s online services been to you over the past few days? Leave a comment below.
