There is one thing that Nike does sometimes where, despite the lack of official license to make a branded shoe, they choose only a very obvious color scheme, allowing fans to give it a nickname and run with it anyway. He’s been working on it all since Doraemon to Gundam, and next month it picks up Star Wars.
This is one of my favorite sneakers of all time, the Presto Mid Utility (most famous lately known for its acronyms collabs), dressed in a color that is officially known as “Carbon Green / Black-Ghost-Pollen,” but which is already and predictably labeled “Boba Fett”. But he’s not the only one. There are actually three couples in this line coming, all wearing the same shoe and all inspired by … that scene in Empire Strikes Back when did Vader line up all the Bounty Hunters?
The second pair, above, are “Darth Vaders” (all black is usually a winner, but that silver heel might be a little much), while the third, below and potentially even better than Boba Fetts, are already. known as “Bossk”:
Note that Nike don’t have the Star Wars license. Adidas do, and they’ve spent the last few years releasing some over-branded, corny as shit stuff that looks . Nike shoes here they are just, for legal purposes, a collection of sneakers that will suit just about everyone have some very particular themes and colors in common.
For Nike to come out like this it releases a whole line of Star Wars-inspired shoes, just to a point when Adidas ’efforts have been ridiculed by sneakerheads, it definitely feels more than just a tribute, it feels like a statement.
All three pairs are slated for release in November 2021, and these general release shoes can be really easy to get your hands on!
