During the lifetime of the Nintendo Switch, several “impossible” ports were released. We are talking about games such as The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt and the new version of DOOM, developed by specialized teams such as Saber Interactive and Panic Button.

Another developer known to do wonders with the Nintendo hybrid system is Virtuos. Since the introduction of the Switch, it has helped bring games such as Dying Light, LA Noire, Dark Souls: Remastered and Bioshock: The Collection to the device. Now, in last newsthe same company was revealed to be behind the release of NieR:Automata Switch (originally developed by PlatinumGames).

Square Enix has previously turned to Virtuos for a number of other projects such as the Tomb Raider series and even some older Final Fantasy games. When NieR:Automata arrives on Switch, players can expect the game to run at 30fps at 1080p when docked and 720p when docked.

Virtuos has previously mentioned that their Switch ports will get better, and so far they’ve mostly managed to deliver a range of high-quality experiences on the Switch. Earlier this year, the company also mentioned how excited it was with a number of Switch projects for the summer and beyond, so we’re guessing NieR: Automata is one of them.

Are you looking forward to when NieR:Automata goes on sale on October 6th? How do you feel when you hear that Virtuos is releasing a Switch version? Leave your thoughts below.
