New footage of Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ uses the guy over and over again

Compilation of moments where the same extra appears in Doctor Strange 2.

If there’s anything that will finally bring me back to the horrific vista of a crowded, poorly ventilated, dark room, it’s Sam Raimi directing the film. Doctor Strange continuation. But unless Strange Ph.D. casts another wayward spell, I’ll be spending way too much time looking at the actors in the background. It’s all because of the multiverse madness in the ad snippet given to IMDB, and once I point it out, you can never unsee it.

Apparently originally spotted by a Twitter user @jbhayek8exclusive short clip from the Internet Movie Database of Doc Strange battling a massive invisible octopus shows the same unfortunate man in a brown suit (and by his expression, pants) running away from the scene over and over and over again , and again, and all this in just one minute of video recording.

@jbhayek8 counted it four times, but according to our calculations, the unfortunate man and his man’s bag appear at least six once in front of Strange and he has to run past him to escape. Count them with us…

The octopus opens up as the man runs past Strange a second time.

The man runs past Strange for the third time, turning to look at the beast.

Passed for the fourth time, but the same as the third, again running past Strange and looking back.

The poor guy is in front of Strange again, this time Strange breaks the bus into magical blocks.

The last appearance of the poor fellow, now again behind the bus, when Strange splits it in half.

Is Strange using one of his famous orange portals (stolen without permission from Aperture Labs) maliciously? This would be especially cruel of him and would require a lot of extra work, given that a huge killer cephalopod occupies his attention.

Perhaps it’s the previously unknown power of America Chavez, who dives into that bus at the beginning of the clip, and then, in some impressive sequel, turns out to be inside him in the middle of the stage, and then they save him when he falls from this close to the end.

Of course, erroneous details like this often pop up in films, and people love to pore over films to find the tiniest continuity errors and then crow about them like they’ve just debunked the authenticity of that documentary. But this one is particularly egregious, not least when it was chosen as promotional material for one of the biggest movie sites on the internet. We contacted Marvel to ask if they know what might be going on here.

However, I can’t wait to see it. Sam Raimi stars in Marvel for the first time in 18 years! The only way the above could have been better if the guy running away was Bruce Campbell.
