Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 Multiplayer Details – PlayStation.Blog

Attention all PlayStation players! Get ready for a new era of Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Next showcase event reveals new release details for October 28th Modern Warfare 2 and the release later this year of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Both games promise a lot of innovations and improved gameplay.

Let’s take a look at some of the newly introduced features, as well as additional Modern Warfare II pre-order incentives reserved exclusively for PlayStation.

Modern Warfare II Multiplayer Innovations

After many years of development, Modern Warfare II has gone through many iterations, bringing many evolutionary changes in technology and design.

Swimming and water fight: Dive underwater to flank enemies. Due to its increased density, water affects the dynamics of the battle. Learn how to use personal weapons and certain equipment to achieve your water goals.

Advanced motion options: Slide or dive like a dolphin to the floor, providing more opportunities to charge into battle. For vertical movements, use the hang on the ledge, which gives you more freedom to explore the environment while climbing.

Use new vehicles: Pilot brand new vehicles such as UTV, light tank, heavy helicopter, tactical vehicle and rigid inflatable boat. Vehicles have more interactive and destructible elements than ever before.

New equipment, field improvements and bonuses: Experience new field upgrades such as tactical camera, shock stick, drill rig, DDoS attack and inflatable bait. Equip new perk packs that include two basic perks, plus a bonus and ultimate perk that can be earned in a match.

Gunsmith’s weapon platforms: Earn weapon platform attachments that are common to all weapons on the same platform, as well as universal attachments that are used for all eligible weapons.

New modes: Play Ground War and Invasion mixed with new player and AI and experience new modes like Knockout, Prisoner Rescue and a new third person playlist to change the perspective.

Shooting range: The range available at launch is a self-contained range with three firing lanes, defensive bulges, and multiple targets at varying ranges.

Special Operations: Continue the story after Modern Warfare II’s campaign concludes in a branching co-op experience, allowing you to explore large-scale hot zones with your teammate.

Raids: Raids, coming later this year after launch, are a new experience for the franchise, a collaborative challenge that requires teamwork and strategy like never before.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 innovations

Get ready to head to Al Mazra, a large and elaborate new map coming with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 as part of the first season of Modern Warfare II.

New modes of transport: In addition to using the new swimming mechanics, you will also have the opportunity to control over a dozen unique vehicles. Capture gas stations and look for gas canisters to replenish fuel supplies.

Score: Improved buy station, allowing you to buy out squad mates; buy equipment such as gas masks, killstreaks and armor; and buy and upgrade weapons. You can also sell valuable loot for cash.

Collapse circle: The storm gradually envelops the landscape of Al-Mazra. Expect variations on the traditional collapse, such as weather anomalies that split the safe zone into multiple areas before convergent into a single safe zone again.

GULAG: Start with your fists, collect loot and fight in a 2v2 multi-level arena for a chance to get back on the map. Alternatively, eliminate the Jailer and use his keys to escape.

AI fighters and fortresses: Test your skills as you try to conquer the Fortress, which has a lot of AI fighters ready to protect the prey inside.

DMZ: Compete in an all-new sandbox game launching alongside Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Stay tuned for more information.
