During a recent interview with CNET, Metroid dread Producer Yoshio Sakamoto, who originally worked on the series as a designer, expressed his own desire to see Samus in the movies. He finds the idea “very interesting” and hopes that one day it will become “reality.”

CNET: Speaking of the recent Super Mario movie preview, a Metroid movie would be interesting. I have no idea who Samus will play.

Sakamoto: So this is very interesting. Personally, I hope that someday this will really become a reality.

As mentioned, Nintendo and Illumination are currently working on an animated Super Mario movie due next year. Chris Pratt will play Mario if you missed him. In addition, Nintendo says it has other media projects and is also looking into Other animation.
