MLB Show 22 came out a little over a week (a little longer if you paid for the Digital Deluxe Edition) and has been constantly updated and fixed. However, developer Sony San Diego Studio has released the first major update since the first patch; it addresses some issues (such as repetitive tutorials) when adding “new player images” throughout the game.

We had to run the update manually on the Switch (press the “+” in the HOME window of the game screen, then “Software Update” and “Via Internet”), and most likely it will install automatically soon. Below are the full patch notes (this is version 1.0.3 for the Switch version).

  • Fixed an issue that prevented Ump at Home from calling in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes pause timers would not start counting down when controllers were disabled.
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused the game to freeze when balls hit unfair territory.
  • Batsmen pressing R2 to view the pitching history will no longer affect defensive spotting gestures. If R2 is pressed at the same time as or after the feed motion has started, R2 will no longer interrupt the guard user. If the batter presses R2 before the pitch motion has begun, the motion will not start.
  • Fixed a bug that caused it to get stuck at or near 3B in certain situations.
  • Users will now be notified when their jug is exhausted when 25% energy is left.
  • Constant energy balance of the pitcher in 3 inning modes: we have reduced the energy of the pitcher by 15%, but more importantly, we have also reduced the loss of energy per pitch. This will result in you being able to use pitchers longer and more efficiently.
    • DEVELOPER NOTE: You might think this is a departure from the update we released on April 12th, which saw us increase RP and SP energy, but this rebalancing, especially the reduction in throwing energy loss, will eventually result in pitchers being able to throw. more. fields.

  • Fixed an issue where arbitrage calculations could result in wages below the MLB minimum.

  • Fixed an issue that caused player stats to be missing after entering a saved quick game.
