Japanese video game veteran Sega has registered the Sega trademark Sapporo Studio, which means the company is opening a new base in the capital of Hokkaido.
Sapporo is Japan’s largest city north of Tokyo and the largest city on the northern island of Hokkaido. Scale (Zero break series) is also based in the city, while Hudson Soft was founded there in 1973. Konami, which bought Hudson Soft, also had a studio in Sapporo.
Sega is headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
