Bandai Namco has released the long-awaited remaster of the game Klonoa: Door in Fantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunate’s Veil just around the corner, and in anticipation of the return of the charming dream traveler, the company has released introductory videos for both games from the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series collection.

This is the first time the games have been re-released together, and the first time Lunatea’s Veil has even seen a re-release (after the first game was re-released for the Wii in 2009).

Door to Phantomile is Klonoa’s very first game, and you’ll see Klonoa team up with a ring spirit named Huepow. Together they travel through the world of Fantomile, a country that exists thanks to the dreams of people. In the beginning, Klonoa meets up with her new best friend and pulls her main weapon out of the ground – a magical ring – in the style of Excalibur.

We’ve mentioned this before, but this re-release uses an art style that’s much closer to the original PlayStation game, while retaining Klonoa’s shorter, chubbier look.

The sequel, Lunate’s Veil, takes place some time after Klonoa’s adventures in Phantomile – and even after the GBA title Empire of Dreams. Now, in a new world, Klonoa must save Lunatea’s land after being approached by a mysterious voice in a dream.

Prior to this compilation, Lunatea’s Veil was only released on PS2. It retained the 2.5D style the first game was known for, while introducing a whole new cast of characters and a whole new outfit for our cute little anthropomorphic anime friend.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series launches July 8 on Switch. You can pre-order the game at official siteor through Amazon.
