Just over a month away from the release of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, the HAL Laboratory team has started to update us with new additions to the game. The most notable of these is the reveal of Kirby’s new Copiable Abilities, which are bonuses granted by ingesting an enemy. We already knew about the Mech ability from the first trailer, but it looks like there’s a lot more to come.
Sharing via @NintendoUK, a new Pink Raincoat Copy Ability, Sand, will be added to the game. This power-up will give Kirby the ability to manipulate the environment into a defensive hideout, or blast enemies with granular attacks. Slashing opponents with a sword or burning them with fire is one thing, but throwing some sand in their eyes? This is really evil.
The tweet brought along several images of what this copyable ability would look like in action, showing Kirby building an impressive sandcastle, presumably with a promise to throw it at any attackers. Check out the pictures below:
But wait, that’s not all! Follow-up tweet from the official @Kirby_JP The account has also confirmed that the “Festival” copy ability will appear in Return to Dream Land Deluxe. You can recognize this little carnival number from Kirby Star Allies, where this ability could be used to eliminate all nearby enemies, Umm, dancing. Well, this time he’s back, so beware Waddle Dis, a deadly dancer is on the loose.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe Coming to Switch on 24 February. While it may seem like a long time for those looking to get back to playing the 2011 Wii, we believe there will be many more feature announcements in the coming weeks.
