It looks like the next season of Pokémon GO will be based on Legends: Arseus

Pokémon GO kicks off a new season tomorrow, and developer Niantic has already given us a short answer on what to expect.

It will be titled “Legacy Season,” and since any reading Pokémon fan will surely notice himself, the styling and wording seems to hint at the Pokémon Legends: Arceus binding. With the release of this game (which will take players on a journey through the past of the Sinnoh region) on Switch in January, this is definitely the right time for such an event.

Heritage season starts on December 1st at 10am local time (thanks, Eurogamer), and while details of what it will contain have yet to be revealed, it’s easy to guess what exactly could be present.

It is possible that the new season will bring with it several Hisuian Pokémon (new forms of old favorites that should appear in Legends: Arceus) or perhaps even Arceus himself, the mythical Pokémon who, according to game lore, is the creator of the entire Pokémon universe.

We’ll see for ourselves tomorrow, but until then, feel free to let us know what you hope to see in the comments below.
