No More Heroes III for Nintendo Switch – Grasshopper Latest Release

Just a day after hearing famed video game creator Goichi “Suda51” Suda want to reboot or remake Nintendo’s old IP address, he announced that his development studio would be run by Chinese video game giant NetEase.

Yes, that’s right – Grasshopper Manufacturer is ending its partnership with Japanese publisher and developer GungHo Online Entertainment to join the NetEase Group, one of the world’s largest internet and video game companies, which also partners with Western companies such as Blizzard.

Here is an announcement from the Court itself, which promises that the developer will continue to create exciting new games as always:

Grasshopper Manufacture recently completed the Switch title. No more heroes 3… The plan is now to work on three new original intellectual property projects over the next decade

Here is Suda51’s full statement announcing the new partnership with NetEase:

Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. celebrated its 23rd anniversary in March this year. Over the past 23 years, our team of creators with different backgrounds and personalities have introduced gamers to a wide variety of games. We now have a unique opportunity to rethink the game development and organizational structure of Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. moving forward. Realizing our advantages and unique position, we were presented with new opportunities in the creation of games.

As we all know, NetEase Games has developed many great games in the past, and I have long known about NetEase’s creativity. When we talked to NetEase about “co-developing more unique console games,” we resonated. After much deliberation, we unanimously decided to “unite” in the long term through deeper collaboration to create more good content for gamers.

NetEase Games understands the strengths of Grasshopper Manufacture Inc., stands ready to support us, and is an extremely reliable partner. NetEase Games will be primarily responsible for advising on our business planning and providing sufficient funding for game development. We will be responsible for the creativity and production of games so that we can continue to maintain the consistent “Grasshopper Manufacture flavor” and quality of games for which we are renowned. In addition, we will also receive strong support from the NetEase team of thousands of artists and technical experts in game art and quality assurance. We will make the most of this support and will strive to offer three better Grasshopper Manufacture Games to all players over the next ten years.

Moving towards an entirely new future in game development, Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. is reborn and will continue to make history. Be in touch.

From the news, Monkey Ball and Yakuza creator Toshihori Nagoshi is leaving Sega to join NetEase.
