GBA Sky Garden Introduced For Mario Kart Tour, Find The Differences From MK8 Deluxe

With the first wave of the catchy-named Deluxe Booster Course Pass just around the corner, there’s been a lot of speculation about whether Nintendo has used the equivalents of the Mario Kart Tour retro courses (and of course there are valid Tour tracks in a wave) as a base, resulting in a slightly different visual look. To which the answer is: “Yes, probably, this usually happens in game development.”

We think the Switch iteration of these courses looks a hell of a lot sharper and more detailed, likely due to the fact that the mobile title has to fit an extremely wide range of devices. That said, it’s a fair comparison that’s now a little easier than the Sky Tour announced for the Mario Kart Tour, which includes the GBA Sky Garden’s in-game debut; Yes, we will be playing the Lucky Cat Cup on the same field on March 18th on Switch.

Similar art style and shared assets? Absolutely. Will this be less fun? Probably no.
