Flashback 2 will be released sometime in 2023

Update [Mon 22nd Aug, 2022 15:15 BST]: Until this summer, we waited a bit for new news about Flashback 2, didn’t we? Now, publisher Microids has shared an update for this long-awaited sequel, which means we’ll have to wait a little longer.

In a press release shared by GematsuMicroids is delaying the release of Flashback 2 from winter 2022 to an unspecified date next year.

Here is the Microids statement in full:

Hi,

Today we have important news about the launch of the video game. Memory 2. First of all, let us thank you all for your patience and your support. Our team is hard at work to create the adventure that matches the expectations of the players in this popular franchise, which has been dear to our hearts for more than three decades.

Originally scheduled for Winter 2022 on consoles and PC, we have made the decision to push back the game’s release to 2023. A more precise release date will be announced later.

We are deeply grateful for your understanding and really hope that this experience will be enjoyed by all gamers around the world. We will regularly inform you about the development progress.

Original article [Thu 9th Jun, 2022 19:40 BST]: We haven’t heard anything about Flashback 2 for a while. This sequel to the oft-forgotten 1992 classic was teased last year – and yes, we may have been a piece cheeky with our headline, but 30 years have passed!

But we eventually got a fresh look at the upcoming sequel to Flashback at this year’s Summer Game Fest. A short one-minute trailer confirmed that Flashback 2 will also be coming to Switch along with all other consoles.

Not the announcement we expected to see today, let alone a Switch version confirmation, but we’ll make a new entry in a long-forgotten franchise any day now!
