‘Emo’ visual novel Gloom And Doom takes the slacker vibe from the movies

Viridian Software is releasing its new visual novel Darkness and Doom on Switch on July 19, promising a throwback to the ’90s slackers, but with a supernatural twist.

It stars Winona, an ordinary emo teen who is secretly the immortal herald of rock that could bring about the end of the world, but she doesn’t want it. She befriends a ghost and together they go on a quest to prevent the coming apocalypse.

Darkness and Doom is a visual novel that takes us back to the 90s slackers with elements of the supernatural.

The depressed spirit tries to return to heaven by hunting demons. After killing demons for 500 years, his latest target is a girl who believes she will bring about the end of the world.

However, even his formidable powers fail to kill her, and they set off in search of death and peace for her.

The game features a set of sullen characters and a 90s superhero comic book style. Your choice will lead you to one of seven endings.
